These terms are an agreement between [LEGAL OWNER NAME] ("Tasdeek", "we", "us") and the business that installs Tasdeek on its Shopify store ("you"). By installing or using Tasdeek you accept them. If you accept them for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to do so.
1. The service
Tasdeek is an app for Shopify stores. Depending on your plan, it lets you:
- create serial numbers in your own format or import the ones you already have, and print QR labels as PDF or SVG;
- link serial numbers to orders automatically when you fulfil them;
- let customers register products, see their products and file warranty claims with photos;
- show an authenticity result when someone scans a label or checks a serial number;
- let owners pass a product to a new owner by email link;
- publish a digital product passport page for each unit;
- connect Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, webhooks and the Tasdeek REST API.
Customer pages are served on your store's own web address through Shopify and appear inside your store's theme. They work in English, German, French and Spanish.
Tasdeek is new. We are offering it to a limited number of stores as early access, and features may change as we develop it. We will tell you before we remove a feature you rely on.
What an authenticity result means
A "genuine" result means that the serial number, and the authentication code if one was entered, matches one issued in your Tasdeek account. It does not by itself prove that a physical item is original, for example if a label has been copied. Tasdeek flags serial numbers that are checked from many different places, but it cannot detect every copied label.
Product passports
Tasdeek gives you a place to store passport information and publish it at a stable address for each unit. Tasdeek does not check whether a passport meets any legal requirement that applies to your products. You are responsible for the information in it and for deciding whether it meets those requirements.
2. Your account
- You need a Shopify store to use Tasdeek. You install it through Shopify, and your Tasdeek account belongs to that store. Shopify's own terms continue to apply to your use of Shopify.
- Who in your team can use Tasdeek is controlled by your Shopify staff permissions. You are responsible for what people do with the access you give them.
- If you create API keys or webhook secrets, keep them private. You are responsible for requests made with your keys. If a key may have been exposed, revoke it in Tasdeek and create a new one.
- Keep your contact details in Shopify up to date so we can reach you about the service.
3. Merchant responsibilities
- Your customers' information. You decide what customer information is collected through your store and why. You must have a lawful basis for it and tell your customers, in your own privacy policy, that you use Tasdeek for product registration, warranties and related services. Tasdeek processes that information for you, as described in our privacy policy.
- Customer requests. You answer your customers' requests about their information. You can see and export registrations in Tasdeek to help you do that. Requests to erase a customer's data that you make through Shopify are passed to Tasdeek automatically.
- Your warranties and claims. Your warranty terms are between you and your customers. You set the warranty rules in Tasdeek, you decide on each claim, and you are responsible for honouring your warranties. Tasdeek does not give any warranty to your customers.
- Accurate information. You are responsible for the accuracy of your product, warranty and passport information and of any marketing consent wording you use.
- Labels and codes. You are responsible for printing and attaching labels, and for keeping authentication codes private until they reach the customer.
- Your own tools. If you use your own mail server, Klaviyo, webhooks or the API, you are responsible for those services and for what they do with the data Tasdeek sends to them.
- Fair use. Do not use Tasdeek to break the law, to send spam, to upload harmful or unlawful content, to make false claims that a product is genuine, to get around plan limits, to overload or attack the service, or to copy or resell it.
4. Fees
- Tasdeek has a free plan and paid plans. Plans differ in how many units you can add each month and in which features are included. The current plans and their prices are shown on the plan page in your Shopify admin and on the Shopify App Store listing: [PLAN PRICES].
- Paid plans are billed by Shopify, through your Shopify bill, under Shopify's billing terms. Prices do not include taxes unless Shopify shows them that way.
- [FREE TRIAL, IF ANY]
- You can change plans at any time in Shopify. Moving to a smaller plan does not delete your data. Features that your new plan does not include stop being available, and passports you already published stay public.
- We may change prices. We will tell you at least [PRICE CHANGE NOTICE PERIOD] before a change applies to you.
- Refunds: [REFUND POLICY]
5. Your data
- Your store data and your customers' information stay yours. You allow us to use them only to provide and support Tasdeek for you, as described in these terms and in our privacy policy.
- For your customers' information, we act on your behalf and follow your instructions, which are given through your settings and your use of Tasdeek. [DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT]
- You can export units, registrations and passport information as CSV files while Tasdeek is installed.
- When you uninstall Tasdeek, Shopify asks us to delete your store's data, usually 48 hours later. We then delete all of your store's Tasdeek data. Export anything you want to keep before you uninstall.
- If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Tasdeek without owing you anything.
6. Liability
- We work to keep Tasdeek running well, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
- Tasdeek depends on services we do not control, such as Shopify, email providers and hosting. We are not responsible for their failures.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost sales or lost goodwill.
- Our total liability to you for all claims under these terms is limited to the fees you paid us for Tasdeek in the 12 months before the claim arose. [LIABILITY CAP TO BE CONFIRMED]
- You are responsible for claims made against us that arise from your products, your warranties, your use of your customers' information or your breach of these terms.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Ending the agreement
- You can stop using Tasdeek at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify store. Charges for a paid plan are handled by Shopify under its billing terms.
- We may suspend or end your use of Tasdeek if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if Shopify ends our access. We may also stop offering Tasdeek altogether; if we do, we will give you at least [SERVICE END NOTICE PERIOD] notice so you can export your data.
- When the agreement ends, the customer pages Tasdeek adds to your store stop working, including registration, authenticity, claim and passport pages, and your data is deleted as described in section 5.
- Sections 5, 6 and 8 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
